Dear Friends,

Happy new year from snowy Flagstaff! I’m delighted to share news of upcoming poetry events online, in-person and abroad! First, right around the corner, I’ll be offering a virtual Landscape Poetry Workshop through Lighthouse Writers on January 17th. I’ll also be offering a virtual Robert Frost Workshop through The Frost Place in New Hampshire on March 14. Both of these online workshops still have a few openings left, so please do join me!

For those who live in Maui, or might be traveling to Hawaii next month, I’m delighted to announce a brand-new, all-day nature writing poetry workshop at The Merwin Conservancy, held in WS Merwin’s gorgeous palm gardens. This workshop is a collaboration between The Merwin Conservancy and The Hui No’eau center, and is a rare opportunity to experience and write about Merwin’s lush landscape first hand. This class will be part of my visiting poet post at The Hui No’eau center, which also includes poetry workshops for children and high school students. I’m looking forward to this immensely, and am grateful to The Hui Center for bringing me back out to their magical grounds!

Plans are currently in the works for more Poetry in the Parks during the summer and fall - finalized details coming soon! Please keep an eye on my website for news about these free and open-to-all workshops in our beautiful National Parks and National Monuments. Some exciting new destinations are in the works!

Coming up in late May and June, I’m thrilled to return to #1 Aspinall Street in Mytholmroyd, the childhood home of Ted Hughes. While there, I’ll be working on my Ted Hughes inspired collection, and also be offering a series of poetry workshops and readings. I’m extremely grateful to the Elmet Trust for inviting me to return to Ted’s childhood home, and to the Myner Trust for kindly funding this incredible opportunity. Please keep an eye on my website and the Elmet Trust website for more details.

Here is a new Ted Hughes & Sylvia Plath poem, “The Ouija Board” in the latest issue of the The Los Angeles Review of Books.

Coming soon:

“Young Sunflowers” in Poetry London, Spring 2026.
